CogniScent uses dye-polymer sensors and a proprietary sensor material to create an array that combines sensitivity and selectivity that is inexpensive to manufacture in quantity. CogniScent has two different sensor materials which it uses to develop sensors for its library
Sensing Polymers Our base sensing material is an optically active polymeric material mixed with a fluorescent dye. The material’s response to target vapor is determined empirically and tested for accuracy prior to deposit onto our proprietary substrates.
Proprietary DNA-based Sensors The sensor material is easily synthesized and can be manipulated for high-throughput and rapid identification of new target compounds. CogniScent can engineer accurate sensors which may not be available using traditional polymeric materials in a fraction of the time required for other detection processes and at significantly reduced cost.
